Here are a few photos from the 2011 Governor's Charity Steer Show at the Iowa State Fair on Friday, August 13th. The steers were immediately sold at auction and proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa, which has raised more than $1.7 million. Dennis E. We had a member of the Army Reserves stop by the studio today and thanks to the rain (I know, never thought I'd say that) he was able to finally catch Bubba! Our 4th and final "Veterans Day" appearance of 2010 was at the Lions of Iowa District 9SW Convention. Our 3rd Veterans Day Appearance was in Maryville, Missouri at the Maryville Middle School.Bubba spoke to a group of middle school students and staff. This painting is based on the colors of the Vietnam Service Ribbon in rough impressionistic style. Recently, we also went to an event for the “March of Dimes” (a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health of babies by reducing birth defects and infant mortality). Bubba donated a very special painting to be auctioned off at their charity event. It ended up bringing $3,000 for the March of Dimes. We were very happy to help out their cause!
